We had a bit of a sleep in this morning before heading down for breakfast and then to the dive shop to pick up our gear. Dave and Monica were heading home today so it was time to start wrapping things up.
After the chores were done Wade and I headed to the airport...not to catch a flight...but to see about renting another car...
Before we left for vacation my Mom gave us an early anniversary present...cash...with strict instructions to spend it on something 'fun'...and what could be more fun than renting an awesome car to drive on the beautiful curvy roads around here? What could be more awesome than a new Camaro SS? The answer...not much LOL. Wade dropped me off at the rental counter and we decided to meet up at the coffee shop. I was soon handed the keys and was behind the wheel of ZAK. I actually said 'holy shit' when I pulled out of the parking lot and hit the gas. Very nice performance from this muscle machine...heads up display shows your speed and a few other pieces of information right on the windshield so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. Paddle shifters on the steering wheel let you shift manually if you like to have a bit more control. Stiff suspension to keeps you hugged tight to the curvy roads at high speed...and a button to shut off the traction control if you crave the smell of burning rubber.
Way too soon it was time to go and meet the others for lunch. So, ZAK got parked and a chance to cool down while we walked up our main road in the pursuit of fish tacos...yes...I was finally going to try one! There was a big St Paddy's Day celebration with lots of vendors on the streets selling their stuff so it was an interesting walk...only one problem...there was a power outage! That meant only drinks available at the taco place...so back we went and found a Subway with power so out of sheer desperation we ate there.
After lunch we hit the road again for a bit more fun with ZAK before heading back to the resort to say good bye to
